Koh Lak Ngam consists of 2 granite pinnacles that rise approximately 5m above sea level. The dive site is located 15 km north east of Chumphon, and takes about 1.5 hours leaving from Pha Ta Pao river on a day trip dive boat.
The site is one of the 40 islands belonging to Chumphon National Marine Park and offers many varieties of marine life including a large number of both hard and soft corals.
Koh Lak Ngam shelves quickly to 25m on the south side and more gently to 16m to the north. With both main pinnacles situated close to each other it is possible to swim between them as well as all the way around on one dive in about 40 minutes.
Other underwater pinnacles and boulders surround the two main ones to make for interesting underwater topography. Marine life abounds with large groups of Bat fish, Trevally, Fusiliers, Turtles and seasonal visits of Whalesharks.
