Bohol is one of the premiere locations in all of the Philippines as there is such a diverse range of things to see and do. Nature lovers will enjoy hiking in the hills and observing the indigenous animals. Ornithologists organize regular trips to the island as many rare species are often seen in the area. Resorts and hotels are of a high standard although there are several budget options for the backpacking community. Restaurants in the region are excellent but spend some time at the food stalls and markets, as the local food is very tasty. The diving is amongst the best in South east-Asia but there are a number of other tourist attractions for those who want to stay dry.
