Cairns is a very cosmopolitan city and has a lot of different bars, pubs and restaurants to choose from. Accommodation ranges from 5-Star to backpacker style hostels for the fervent divers. Familiarize yourself with the local area and try to seek out the best advice when planning your dive trip. There are a huge amount of options and dive sites. For the more adventurous or those with a larger budget, Liveaboards could be the right choice. This would mean a lot more freedom and a lot more time in the water.
When visiting The Great Barrier Reef you are likely to be in Cairns for a few days at least. Come and enjoy the beautiful weather, friendly locals and some of the best diving on the planet.
